Things To DoFor the more energetic there are delightful walks in the surrounding forest. For the less so, there are numerous fires in the house to gather around, to enjoy a book, good conversation or even a snooze! Winnie the Pooh fans will find Pooh Bridge only fifteen minutes away by car. For those who enjoy Steam Rail, the Bluebell railway is located at the end of our road! – a 30 minute walk. William Robinson used to throw the bulbs out of the carriage windows to encourage this wonderful view. www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/ The area also boasts some fine game shooting in the Winter
...At Gravetye
FishingGravetye boasts a beautiful 3 acre lake for fly fishing, brown and rainbow trout. Regretably fishing is not possible at present due to work being carried out by the Forestry Commission. We are confident the fly fishing will resume very soon.
WalkingWe have planned some wonderful walks in the local area, ranging from 30 minutes to over 4 hours. Wellies are available for all!
CroquetWilliam Robinson’s playground, where local children used to dance on his birthday and still do, to commemorate his special day, is a great spot for fun croquet. Its not perfect, but the location and view make it a wonderful place to enjoy a game with family and friends.
