Private Dining at Gravetye

Can we get married at Gravetye?
We are delighted to offer Weddings here at Gravetye Manor. All weddings at Gravetye are required to be an exclusive use booking. Regrettably we do not offer wedding celebrations for smaller parties. We are able to cater for a maximum of 70 guests for the ceremony and sit down meal and up to a total of 90 in the evening. As part of the exclusive use, all 17 bedrooms will be made available from 2pm, along with all teams at your complete disposal, with breakfast the following morning included for all residential guests.

Can we change the dining times?
Regrettably, we are unable to change the dining times for Private Events these are set to ensure that guests receive the high standard of service which we strive for here at Gravetye Manor. For lunches we have a set arrival time of 1:00pm for a sit down meal at 2:00pm. Alternatively, for dinner our arrival time is 7:30pm followed by a sit down meal at 8:30pm.

Do we have to pre-order?
In order to ensure a smooth service, Private Dining requires a full pre order of menu choices, aperitif and wines. This is to be provided 15 days prior to the event and enables us to cater for any dietary requirements and ensures we have your first choice of beverages in stock.

Can we alter the menu or make a bespoke menu?
Menus can be altered to cater for dietary requirements. We also offer a three course children’s menu to cater for their tastes. We unfortunately do not create bespoke menus for our private dining events. Our menus here at Gravetye are created by our Michelin Star Head Chef George Blogg and are carefully designed to showcase his cooking style with a strong emphasis on using the produce from our kitchen garden and all that the local area has to offer. The excellent relationships we have built with our local suppliers and the joint passion for their commitment to animal welfare and top quality produce are crucial to the high standards that we strive for.

Can we be seated in the restaurant dining room?
Due to the seating allocations in the restaurant dining room, we can only seat a maximum of 6 guests per table. For larger parties we are able to offer the Private Dining rooms for lunch and dinner reservations. For a party between 7 and 11 guests, we would offer our smaller Private Dining Room where guests would be seated around a 6 foot round table. For a party between 12 and 20 guests, we would offer our larger Private Dining Room where guests would be seated around a large oval table.

How do I confirm a private event?
To confirm a private event we require a deposit of £30.00 per person alongside a signed copy of our
terms and conditions. For Afternoon Tea the deposit required is £15.00 per person. -
Is there a room hire fee?
For Private Dining no room hire fee to secure a Private Dining Room at Gravetye Manor, as long as the minimum number of 7 guests is reached. This is also applies to Afternoon Tea; as long as the minimum number of 6 guests is reached.

Can we explore the gardens?
Here at Gravetye Manor, we welcome guests to explore the gardens at their leisure either before or after their Private Dining reservation. Regrettably we do not accept garden tours or visits without a dining or resident reservation. Private Tours are available at 11:00am on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a private dining lunch reservation.

Do you accept children?
Children of all ages are welcomed to dine at Gravetye Manor for a Private Dining event. Our three course Children’s menu is designed for ages 12 and under. We welcome other members of the party to order from this menu if it suits their tastes, we can provide a larger portion if required.

How many bedrooms can I book?
When making a private dining reservation, we are only able to offer a maximum of 6 bedrooms per event. Bookings that require more bedrooms would be required to make an exclusive use reservation allowing the use of all 17 bedrooms.

Can we have music for our own private event?
Regrettably we do not allow music for our private events this is due to the private rooms close proximity with the restaurant dining room. This is also to preserve the peaceful atmosphere inside the house and on the grounds that our guests so often seek.

Can we decorate the private dining room?
Guests are welcome to supply balloons and decorations we just ask that nothing is secured to the Oak Panelling and there is no table confetti.

Can I have afternoon tea at Gravetye with less than 6 guests?
Regrettably we are unable to offer Afternoon Tea to parties of less than 6 guests. Our Afternoon Tea is located in our Oak Gazebo from May – September for parties of 6 to 12 guests. We will also be serving Afternoon Tea in the winter months in one of our private dining rooms, please contact us for more information. Should you wish to proceed with a smaller party there will be an additional room hire fee.
