From the Vineyard is our new wine initiative, celebrating the finest examples of English winemaking.
This month, we are delighted to showcase Squerryes Wine Estate, nestled high up on the North Downs in the picturesque town of Westerham, Kent.
Our Head Sommelier says:
"Squerryes wines perfectly capture the complexity of their North Downs terroir, a chalk escarpment sharing the same soil as Côte de Blancs, the renowned region in Champagne. This combined with a unique microclimate, contributes to the production of wines that are not only elegant but also offer greater longevity. Our wine of month will be their Late Disgorged sparkling wine, a true standout—aged on the lees for extended depth and richness, it offers remarkable intensity, fine mousse, and beautiful layers, making it a benchmark for English sparkling wine."
On Thursday, 24th April 2025, we are thrilled to welcome Henry Warde, owner and custodian of Squerryes, for an exclusive complimentary tasting of their exceptional wines. Guests with a dinner reservation that evening are invited to join this special experience.
As the eighth generation of the Warde family to steward Squerryes, Henry has been instrumental in crafting its acclaimed sparkling wines, renowned for their depth, finesse, and sense of place.
In addition, only during the month of April, we’ll be serving the Squerryes Brut with our afternoon teas, and crafting a unique cocktail featuring their exceptional wine.
