  • Garden Tour with Head Gardener Tom Coward followed by Lunch

    Thursday, 28 May 2015
May is probably the most glorious month in the garden and arguably a time when Gravetye is at its most beautiful. In the Flower Garden, sweeps of fox gloves, columbines and lupines should be taking over from the fading tulips and in the Kitchen Garden the first early potatoes should be ready to lift. It is however, the Wild Garden which really stands out at this time of year, with carpets of bulbs and wild flowers in the meadows. Also our famed handkerchief tree will be looking its best, and is testament to William Robinson, who planted it nearly 150 years ago. Tom will focus on the work involved in managing Robinson’s historic Wild Garden. Gathering at 10.30am for the tour. Followed by lunch at 12.30pm. £75.00 per person, aperitif, 3 courses, drinks and tour inclusive. Parts of the tour are over uneven ground and may be wet; please bring appropriate clothing and footwear.
